Welcome to the Wandsworth Older People's Forum

The Forum was set up in 1991 to be a voice for older people in Wandsworth. The Forum now appoints representatives on each consultation group set up by Borough Council and the NHS in Wandsworth. The Forum is also, represented on the Local Strategic Partnership which oversees all services in the Borough.

The Forum Management Committee consists of some 18 people. These are the elected officers and nominated members from the individual membership and from affiliated organisations. Committee meets monthly except in August. At these meetings consultations and comments are made and issues reviewed which have arisen in local and national policies.

The Management Committee and the membership of the Forum has a diverse ethnic mix reflecting the population of older people in Wandsworth. Monthly Open Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month in the Anchor Centre, 273 Garratt Lane SW18 The Forum facilitates an Older People's Network, recognised by Wandsworth Council as the representative body for collecting the views of older people.

Conferences are held for all groups working with and for older people in Wandsworth at six-monthly intervals. A steering group of some 20 representatives meets between conferences.
